[He'd been here for so long that time had begun to lose it's meaning.
The world that saw fit to hide anything even remotely unusual from the eyes of the rest of the planet was where Nagi happened to find himself now, and it was a less than ideal existence. Creatures like him were a scarcity to the point of being practically extinct. Not quite fully beast, but certainly not human in any real sense of the word, Nagi remembered living in the mountains before. Somewhere far away where normal people wouldn't be able to stand the altitude, living in dark caves in safety. He'd been born there, and he much would have preferred that he died there.
Instead, he and the pack he lived with were found and swiftly captured out of fear and confusion for what they even were, but not before they killed quite a number of the human scientists that had staked out their home. Nearly Nagi's entire home had been wiped out in retaliation, including his species. That's how he came to be here...in a government lab designed to keep and study beings like him that humans couldn't understand. Did he evolve from something unknown? Was he an alien? Nagi had no answers because he refused to speak, assuming he could understand what was being said to him at all. They only knew him to be extremely hostile, not hesitating to lash out and attempt to rip apart anyone who got close.
But who could blame him? The last dying image of what he knew- his mother- had died at his side in captivity when he was young. Now, he was all that the humans had left of that failed raid in the mountains, and as he grew older...his strange abilities grew stronger. They had to keep him in a dark space, lest he go berserk from being forced into direct light for too long. Yet, it was a gamble. The darkness seemed to strengthen the psychic powers he posessed. They still had a lot of studying to do...but thankfully for the workers, Nagi seemed too exhausted these days to fight them much. Listless.
Maybe he was finally trying to just give up the ghost and die. At least then he'd be robbing the humans the satisfaction of experimenting on him.]
