blizzardbox[It isn't unusual to find Karamatsu spending a majority of his day at the local fishing hole, catching absolutely nothing of interest due to his weird insistence on using love letters as bait. Maybe it was some metaphorical thing, but that didn't change the fact that the fish didn't care about a soggy piece of paper in the water and simply ignored it. All the other fishermen had the sense to use real bait such as worms, crickets, or even smaller minnows to catch the bigger ones. It meant that the entire area was usually swarming with one or both of two things: birds, and cats.
Karamatsu saw more of the former today, which meant they were more of an annoyance than anything else, pecking all around the ground at the fishermens' feet for scraps. About an hour or two into his sit, however, Karamatsu noticed a scruffy looking calico kitten huddled up next to an empty bait box, occasionally getting brave enough to sniff around inside to see if there was any food to be found. For a while he'd ignored her, but after some time his sympathetic heart made him feel bad for the tiny kitten. Even though he had no bait on him, Karamatsu did have a package of crackers he brought with him to snack on. Not an ideal treat for a kitten, but it was food at all, right?
He carefully knelt down and crumbled up a few nearby before preparing to take his leave, watching from a distance as the little ball of fur trotted over and ate the crumbs like they were the last thing she'd ever eat. As she ate, Karamatsu left with no fish but no less full of pride for himself for what he'd done.
Little did he know that he had a tiny tag-a-long as the kitten followed after him some ways off, periodically mewling pitifully to get his attention, but otherwise ignored by a Karamatsu who could only hear his own thoughts.
He bursts through the front door with his usual dramatics and flair, tossing his head with a heavy exhale before announcing:]
Brothers! I am home!
